As part of our Arlington Dramatist Project initiative (and in the tradition of such WSC productions as Learning Curves by Allyson Currin and Scaramouche by Barbara Field), WSC will present a new play whose themes interact with those of the classic plays that make up the bulk of our season. In rep with The Children's Hour, we offer another play about the pernicious effect of secrets and rumor surrounding strong – and perhaps proscribed – feelings between women. Gregg Henry directs Helen Hayes Award winner Lee Mikeska Gardner in Julie Jensen's Two-Headed, which follows the friendship of two Mormon frontierswomen over the 40 years following the Mountain Meadow Massacre of 1857 in southern Utah. Together these women must come to terms with their family's participation in the massacre, with the practice of polygamy, which was announced as Mormon doctrine in 1852, and with the nature of their own intense relationship.
