H. Lee Gable will direct Cam Magee and WSC artistic director Christopher Henley, the stars of his brilliantly successful WSC production of The Night of the Iguana, in this reunion project. It has been seventy years since Hellman, the most prominent American female stage writer of the 20th century, scored her first hit with this play, but it remains all too timely. Seventy years of tumultuous identity politics will inform our production, which examines the play with particular attention to the construction of gender and sexual identity.
